It is with deep sorrow that we announce that our colleague and friend Karlheinz Stephan passed away on 5th of February 2023.
We have lost a wonderful professional, colleague and person.
Karlheinz Stephan represented the German foresters in UEF for a very long period.
For nearly 10 years he was Vice-president of our Union. During this period, his dedication to foresters and forestry and his high level of professionalism helped to develop many important UEF documents, positions and resolutions.
He was the initiator and driver of the updating and preparation of the new UEF constitution, which was adopted in 2001 and which is still relevant today.
He made an indispensable contribution to the preparation of the UEF History Book in 2013 too.
We will remember him not only as a professional forester but also as real friend and example of tolerance and humanity, sincere smile and modesty.
Rest in peace
