The President of UEF - Michael Diemer participated in the last meeting of the Civil Dialogue Group on Forestry and Cork

Monday, October 17 , 2022 917

On 14th of Octоber 2022 the last meeting of the Civil Dialogue Group on Forestry and Cork was organized by DG Agri.
UEF participated in this last meeting as usual and regrets, that after many years of successful work done in this group the closing was done in an online meeting. While the new CDGs are still constructed, details of the new group of Forestry in the responsibility of DG Agri, Envi and Clima are in Commission internal discussions and it is unclear at the moment how Forestry will be represented by stakeholders and specialists in future.

UEF wants to thank the colleagues of DG Agri and the other member organizations of the CDG Forestry and Cork for many fruitful dicussions,
a good cooperation for the benefit of the European forest and the good and friendly work together, even in controversial discussions.

We really hope, that the successful work of the CDG can be continued in a new, balanced composed group and the practical in forests working forest managers and forest owners will find a adequate representation in the new body.
