First National Conference of Bulgarian Forest pedagogues in Yundola Bulgaria 18-19 October 2019

UEF Presidency was  invited by UBF, the Bulgarian member of UEF, to attend the first National conference of Bulgarian pedagogues in Yundola, in the forest training centre of the University of Forestry of Bulgaria, situated on the border of Rila and Rhodope mountains.

 

Ivan Paligorov, the UBF president, introduced the conference, thanking all the foresters involved in this process supported by UBF and UEF. The Deputy rector of the University of Forestry in Bulgaria, Prof. Milev, supporting the forest pedagogues process since its beginning, underlined its importance in order to educate and inform all citizens, as well kids and adults, better to know and understand the forests and forestry activities.

Bulgaria is now member of the European Forest pedagogics network and attended the last 14th congress in Latvia in July 2019.

 

Later on Anna Petrakieva, vice president of UBF and treasurer of UEF, who created the Bulgarian forest pedagogues’ network, expressed her gratitude to all foresters involved in the development of the Forest pedagogy in Bulgaria, a process suported by UBF and UEF. She summarised the activities of the forest pedagogues since the beginning in 2011.

The achievements are really impressive in such a short period.

Then large number of participants could listen to Thomas Baschny, our UEF secretary and representative of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Sustainability and Tourism, deeply involved in this quite new process of Forest pedagogy in Bulgaria since the beginning, training a large number of volunteers.

 

After the official speeches and technical presentations, all the participants started with various practical workshops in the afternoon and in the morning of 18 October, using the opportunity of the forest surrounding the Yundola centre.

 

 

They could exchange practices and they planned the coming activities of this really active and efficient network of Bulgarian forest pedagogues.

The received pedagogic material and diplomas, testimonies of the high level of knowledge they have now.

 

 

A tasty farewell dinner offered the opportunity to share nice moments of feast, celebrating the 110th UBF anniversary and the full success of the first National conference of Bulgarian forest pedagogues.
