A successful Forestry Summer Camp 2025

Over the past two weeks, the Forest Culture Centre in Gołuchów hosted students participants from: Albania, Germany, Ghana, Poland, Portugal, Scotland, Spain and the United States for the Forestry Summer Camp 2025. PArticipants together with their hosts explored forests, exchanged knowledge, and shared their passion for sustainable forestry.

The camp was organized by the Union of European Foresters (UEF), the Regional Directorate of State Forests in Poznań (RDLP) with its Forest Districts, and the Forest Culture Centre in Gołuchów (OKL).

During the camp, participants took part in: Presentations on forestry perspectives in their home countries, its social dimensions, and insights from the UEF and the State Forests in Poland.

Field trips to forest districts including Antonin, Krotoszyn, Jarocin, Łopuchówko, and Oborniki, focusing on wildfire prevention, silviculture, timber harvesting, nature conservation, game management, and more.

A visit to the Poznań University of Life Sciences, a guided tour of Poznań city, and a trip to the Institute of Dendrology of the Polish Academy of Sciences and Arboretum in Kórnik, where participants discussed climate change and species migration.

The camp blended hands-on learning with cultural experiences, providing a valuable platform for future forestry professionals to connect, exchange ideas, and gain practical knowledge.
