UEF Attended the third meeting of the Civil Dialogue Group and Forestry and Cork
Monday, April 25 , 2022 905
The Civil Dialogue Group and Forestry and Cork met on 22.4.2022 for the third time in 2022 in an online meeting.
The main discussed topics have been the implementation of the new EU Forest Strategy, the relevance of Carbon Farming for the Forest Sector
and the impact of the war in Ukraine on the EU Forest sector and the raw materials supply for the bioeconomy.
As items for information the future CAP Strategic Plans, the EIP-AGRI Network, the ENRD activities and the new Biodiversity governance setup were on the agenda.
UEF attended this very interesting meeting as a member of the CDG.
Once again it became very clear, how challenging the current situation in European forestry is.
On one hand the implementation of the Forest Strategy is going on by preparing many guidelines in the context of biodiversity conservation,
on the other hand, solutions are needed to ensure raw material supply for the bioeconomy even in war times.
