UEF and FECOF International seminar in Mainz Germany

UEF organized an important International seminar in Germany, in partnership with FECOF (European Federation of Forest Communities), BDF and Landesforsten Rheinland-Pfalz, the 28th of September.

More than 60 auditors attended this International seminar, very fruitful and interesting.

 

This seminar was about " Change processes and change management in forestry".

It was hosted in the castle "Schloss Waldthausen", Im Wald 1, in Budenheim, close to Mainz.

 

Some welcoming words were delivered by:

Michael Diemer, President of UEF
Pierre Grandadam, President of FECOF
Ulrike Höfken, Minister for Environment, Energy, Food and Forests of Rhineland-Palatinate.

Ulrich Dohle, Chairman of BDF


Keynote presentations were done by
Dan Burgar-Kuzelicki (DG Agri): “Change Processes in European Forestry”
Prof. Ulrich Schraml: “Effects of change processes on the workforce in Forestry”


A panel discussion followed with:           
Håkan Nystrand, President of METO Finland
Alain Lesturgez, Director of FECOF France
Prof. Dr. Ivan Paligorov, President of UBF Bulgaria
Dr. Mattia Busti, Deputy director of CONAF Italy

The seminar was moderated by Hans Jacobs, BDF.

 

In the afternoon, a fieldtour was organized and presented in the Rheinland-Pfalz's forests 3 examples of the changes in forestry, in action.
