UEF organized a new Workcamp excursion in July 2016 in the Forestry Office of Kastellaun in Germany

The new UEF summer Workcamp for students in forestry was again this year in Germany, in the forest district of Kastellaun (Rheinland-Pfalz).

This workcamp was organized by the Forest service "Landesforsten Rheinland-Pfalz", in cooperation with UEF and SDW (Protection society for German forests).

The intention of the workcamp excursion week was to get to know together with young forestry people from many different countries the forest and the forestry conditions in Rheinland-Pfalz and Germany, to exchange information and experiences and to get to know the region and people with the same interests.

 As program were planed forestry excursions and events to the following themes:

Getting to know the woods of Rheinland-Pfalz and Germany, general forestry in Rheinland-Pfalz and Germany,

Methods and aims of woodland management illustrated by chosen examples, natural forestry methods and new

Cultivation models, geology, natural conservation in Germany, environmental education and public relations work.

 

12 participants came from 8 different nations: Belgium, China (Canada), Greece; Ireland, Netherlands, Ruanda, South Africa, South Corea and Spain.

They attended the Workcamp week, as student in forestry and the week was a success.
