21 March 2023 International day of forests - Forests and health
Wednesday, January 25 , 2023 1647
Healthy forests for healthy people
Every 21 March the United Nations raises awareness of the importance of all types of forests.
The theme of the International Day of Forests in 2023 is "Forests and health". It is related to the benefits provided by forests for the human health - drinkable water, clean air, fight climate change by capturing carbon dioxide, food, life-saving medicines, and improving our wellbeing.
The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 21 March the International Day of Forests (IDF) in 2012 and since then countries are encouraged to undertake local, national and international efforts to organize activities involving forests and trees, such as tree planting campaigns.
UEF has always supported and will support this major event. It’s an opportunity to underline the benefit functions of the forest in your country.
