UEF Round Table Meeting in Brussels 1 December 2011

RTM on the new EU Forest Strategy

Sixteen representatives from different European organisations participated in the RTM organised by the UEF on the 1^st of December 2011. The meeting was dedicated to the new EU Forest Strategy workgroup, which will have its work ready by June 2012. The new EU Forest Strategy is expected to be ready in 2013.

During the meeting participants shared their opinions on the economical, environmental and social aspects of the Strategy. Opinions were exchanged also on some important and up-to date topics as payments for ecosystem services, biomass and bio-energy production as well as development of bio-economy.
