A new joint position paper about biomass and energy, including UEF

Sustainably managed forests are a proven source of sustainable biomass for bioenergy.

You'll find here this new Joint Position Paper “Sustainably managed forests are a proven source of sustainable biomass for bioenergy” by EUSTAFOR, CEPF, COPA and COGECA, UEF, FECOF, and USSE.
This paper presents the ideas, perspectives and positions of forest owners, managers and professionals about sustainability sourcing of biomass. The European Commission Proposal on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources (RED recast) is in discussion at the same moment.
 
The EU commission proposal recognizes the role of Sustainable Forest Management.
 
Forest owners, managers and professional foresters invite the EU policy and decision makers to look at the implementation of existing European and national policies and regulations, which ensure the sustainability of forest biomass sourcing, before starting any action on developing a new regulatory framework with unnecessary burdens.
